OFSTED INSPECTION OF ATWOOD PRIMARY SCHOOL
Notice of meeting for parents
Date: Thursday 4th November Time: 7.30pm Place: Junior Hall
Your child’s school will be inspected soon. The inspection is part of Ofsted’s programme of inspections in which all schools are inspected at least once in a period of six years. The inspection will be carried out by a team led by Mrs Pauline Silcock.
The inspectors would like to know your views about the school and how satisfied you are with it. I am writing to invite you to attend a meeting with the lead inspector that will be held before the inspection begins. The meeting is open to all parents of pupils at the school. The governors and staff will not be present unless they also have children at the school.
The lead inspector will also be able to tell you about the inspection and you will be able to ask questions about this. Although the lead inspector will listen to your views, she will not be able to comment on them or give her own views of the school during the meeting. Your comments will be taken into account during the inspection.
I attach an agenda for the meeting. It shows the topics that the lead inspector will want to cover. You can raise any other matters, but inspectors cannot deal with specific complaints you may have about the school.
The lead inspector has also asked me to send a questionnaire to all parents for them to complete and return to her. The questionnaire is enclosed with this letter. Please fill it in and return it, even if you cannot attend the parents’ meeting. Your response to the questionnaire is confidential between you and the lead inspector. The school will not see individual responses, but the lead inspector will comment on parents’ views in general in the inspection report. If you wish to write in more detail directly to the lead inspector, please do so before the meeting.
Also enclosed is a pupil questionnaire. If appropriate, your child might like to fill this in. It should then be returned with your questionnaire.
Completed questionnaires and any letters should be sent to:
Mrs P Silcock, c/o the school office (in a sealed envelope)
I hope you will be able to come to the meeting.
