Dear Parents

Our sports days eventually took place for most of the children, although only two of the six events were run by Y3/4 pupils due to the rain. The infant sports was won by Water. This was a very enjoyable event and we have had some good feedback about it. The Y3/4 sports was won by Earth with 35 points. The trophy was presented to the children in assembly. Other scores were Air – 29, Fire – 28, Water – 26. The Y5/6 sports was won jointly by Earth and Fire with 105 points. Air had 86 points and Water had 75.

We will be reviewing the junior sports procedures and recognise that it was too short. I have had some useful conversations this week with a number of parents, and I am listening!

The infant productions have been really enjoyable and all the children involved have performed extremely well. Thank you for all the help we have received from parents and friends. On Friday we have our nursery performances.

The junior production of Wizard of Oz is going to be a real treat! Please note that Year 3 will not be performing at the Tuesday matinée performance. The production is around 2 hours long, with the interval. Therefore school for Y4-Y6 will finish after the performance at around 3.35pm on Tuesday. I hope this will not cause inconvenience. If there are any individual issues about this, please see me.

The dress for Y3, 4 and 5 is a colourful t-shirt (without logo if possible) with any dark trousers or skirts (girls may wear either!). Children in Y3, 4 and 5 should meet in the infant hall between 7.10 and 7.15pm, and should bring their water bottle and their hat with them.

The evening performances may finish at around 9.45pm. I think it is best to leave the start time at 7.30pm for those of you who work. I realise that the children will be tired, but it is only twice (three times for Y6!). However, if your child does find the late night difficult, I will understand if they are late to school the following day. However, all children must be in by 9.45am as there are exciting things happening each day.

On Wednesday each class (current Reception to Y5) will move to their new classroom for one session with their new teacher. Thursday is the Leavers’ Assembly, and on Friday, the last day of term, the children have a theatre group performance paid for by the Parents’ Association.

The Workforce Reform meeting on Monday (18th) is going ahead at 7.30pm in the junior hall.
