Newsletter 17/04

Dear Parents

I am delighted that the infant Christmas entertainment went so well. The children and staff have worked magnificently and your support was much appreciated.

Tomorrow is the turn of the nursery, and next week the junior entertainment. We are pleased with the response for tickets for the junior afternoons, but it’s going to be a squash! We have 100 seats for the audience, and then it will be standing room only!

As this is probably the last newsletter of the term, may I remind you that the pupils finish at the normal time on Friday 17th December, and return at 8.45am on Tuesday 4th January.

When the pupils return in January as well as a hot lunch being available from the normal menus, children will also be able to choose a sandwich option. There will be no pre-ordering, as we want children to be able to make that choice themselves depending on what is on offer. However, if you do not want your child to choose sandwiches in place of a hot meal, you will need to agree that with your child. The sandwich option will include a sandwich, a drink and a cake or biscuit.

It will take a few days before the kitchen staff have judged correctly the quantities to prepare and it may be that in first instance some children are unable to have sandwiches, but I’m sure the change will be welcomed by most of you!

We have two vacancies for parent governor. If you are interested in standing for election, or know of a parent who is, please complete a nomination form (available here for you to print out, or from the office) and return it to the office for my attention. A governor’s term of office is normally four years. Full details about the requirements are on the form, and these must be returned by 17th December.

We wish you all a very happy time during the Christmas holiday and a peaceful new year!
